Newark burglary reported

County sheriff's deputies are investigating a residential burglary that occurred in the 0-100 block of Main Street, Newark. Police said the victim told them May 2 that items were stolen from a locked storage unit inside the residence.

Cited after crash

County sheriff's deputies arrested Andrew R. Mitchell, 25, of the 1400 block of East 27th Street, Kansas City, Missouri, for failure to notify police after damaging unattended property April 30 at 8:24 a.m.

Police said they located Mitchell's abandoned vehicle on Tyler Road at Miller Road. Police said they learned that Mitchell had been driving his vehicle southbound on Tyler Road at Miller Road when he dropped his lit cigarette and drove off the road, striking a traffic sign. A nearby resident then took Mitchell home, according to police.

Police said in addition to the failure to notify charge, Mitchell was cited for driving on a revoked Illinois driver's license.

Minor injuries in crash

An Oswego resident, Nick Iovino, 57, of the 200 block of Monroe Street, Oswego, was treated for minor injuries at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora after the vehicle he was driving was involved in a crash at Route 31 and Century Drive in Oswego Township at 7:33 a.m. April 26. Police said the accident occurred when another vehicle driven by Geoffrey C. Upton, 55, of the 900 block of Towne Avenue, Batavia, crossed the center line and struck Iovino's vehicle.

Home damage reported

A resident of Hale Road, Plano, told county sheriff's deputies April 30 that someone damaged the electrical box and cut the wiring that provides electric service to her home.

Motorist facing charges

County sheriff's deputies arrested Omer Syed Farrukh, 22, of the 400 block of Raintree Drive, Oswego, after stopping his vehicle for an equipment violation May 1 at 12:07 a.m. on Route 71 and Village View Drive in Yorkville. Police said Farrukh faces charges of possession of less than 2.5 grams of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Domestic battery arrest

County sheriff's deputies arrested Dorian Taylor Ainsworth, 45, of the 200 block of Georgeanna Street, Yorkville on a charge of domestic battery at her residence April 30 at 6 p.m. Police said Ainsworth was transported to the Kendall County Jail pending court proceedings.

K-9 assists in arrest

A narcotics K-9 assisted county sheriff's deputies in arresting Denise Marie Christner, 27, of the 200 block of West Washington Street, Oswego, and Cameron Terry Olson, 21, of the 300 block of Greenwood Place, Oswego, on Minkler Road at Budlong Road in Oswego at 7:05 p.m. April 28. Deputies stopped the suspects' vehicle for having an obstructed driver's view. Both were subsequently arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia. Christner faces an additional charge of possession of cannabis.

Paraphernalia arrest

County sheriff's deputies arrested Mason Jerry Lausier, 18, of the 10-20 block of Pickford Road, Boulder Hill, after stopping his vehicle at Budlong Road at Minkler Road in Oswego at 7:05 p.m. April 28. Police said Lausier was charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

No charges in battery

County sheriff's deputies responded to the first block of Bereman Road in Boulder Hill on April 26 on a report of a battery in progress. Police said both parties, two men ages 32 and 42, had minor abrasions on their knees and ankles but did not wish to sign complaints against each other. A 27-year-old woman was also listed as involved in the incident. All of the parties left the area and no charges were filed, according to police.

Damage reported

County sheriff's deputies took a report April 28 of an estimated $1,500 in damage done to a piece of equipment at a business in the 1200 block of East Beecher Road in Bristol Township.

Wedding ring stolen

A wedding ring was reported stolen April 26 from a residence in the 100 block of Braeburn Road, Boulder Hill, county sheriff's deputies reported. Police said the ex-wife believes her ex-husband took the ring from her house in December and pawned it. Police said they are investigating.

Domestic arrest

County sheriff's deputies arrested Allante Lorenzo Tolliver, 27, of the 18000 block of Edwards Avenue, Country Club Hills, on charges of domestic battery and interference with the reporting of a domestic battery at a residence in the 1100 block of Light Road in Oswego. Tolliver was taken to the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville pending a bond call.

Cannabis arrest

County sheriff's deputies arrested Michael Charles Schonder, 21, of the 400 block of Bobcat Court, Oswego, after stopping his vehicle for an equipment violation in the 600 block of Route 31 in Oswego at 7 p.m. April 27. Police said Schonder faces charges of unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Failure to appear

County sheriff's deputies arrested Jonathon Michael Smith, 20, of the 12000 block of River Road, Plano, after stopping him while riding his bicycle without a headlight at night on River Road at Eldamain Road, at 11:42 p.m. April 27. Police said they learned that Smith was wanted on a LaSalle County warrant for failure to appear in court on a prior charge of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Traffic citations

Eric Brown, 24, of the 400 block of Assembly Drive, Bolingbrook, speeding, no valid insurance and driving on a suspended license.

Kyle Aaron Kearns, 26, of the 400 block of Johnson Street, Sheridan, driving on a suspended license.

Leonel Ivan Casas-Garcia, 27, of the 100 block of Harbor Drive, Oswego, driving without a valid license.
