High school boys basketball: Glenbard West's Tim Hoder, Justin Pierce earn Illinois Basketball Coaches Association honors

GLEN ELLYN – After a record-setting season on the court, Glenbard West's boys basketball team added another accolade recently.

Head coach Tim Hoder was named the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association District 7 Coach of the Year on March 25.

The Hilltoppers went 25-4 on the year, setting a school record for wins while also claiming their first conference title since 1973 and their first regional title since 2008. West went 10-2 for the West Suburban Silver title.

In addition to Hoder's honor, senior Justin Pierce was named to the ICBA Class 3A/4A all-state first team. The William & Mary recruit averaged 24.8 points and 11 rebounds per game as a senior this winter.
