History of electric company to be discussed at Brown Bag

The history of Automatic Electric stretches back to 1907 when Cracraft Leich Electric Co. was founded in Genoa. Through the years, many people worked at the company producing telephones and switchboards.

The Kishwaukee Valley Heritage Society will host its first Brown Bag lunch program of the year from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the society museum, 622 Park Ave. in Genoa.

Speakers include Becky Euhus, Curt Gustafson and several other former employees, who will discuss the work they did while employed by Automatic Electric.

The museum will open at 11:30 a.m. to give visitors time to view the large display of products made by the company.

People who worked at Automatic Electric are encouraged to attend and share their memories.

The program is free, while donations are welcome. Coffee and cookies will be provided.
