A fall at the 1:48 mark of the championship bout gave Glenbard East’s Nolan Vincent the 120-pound title at the Class 3A Downers Grove South regional Feb. 6.

Nolan moved on to the Batavia sectional. Teammates Quantrelle Turner (second at 220), Nick Donovan (third at 106), Drew Fugiel (third at 126) and Louis Mogovero (third at 170) also made the sectional tourney.

WRESTLING

Montini

Joey Melendez (106 pounds), Real Woods (113), Jimmy Pawelski (126), Dylan Duncan (132), Will Lewan (138) and Matt Ortiz (152) won titles at the Class 3A Downers Grove South regional Feb. 6.

Caleb Fortuna (145) and Peter Christensen (160) placed second while Nicky Amato (120) was third. All three also qualified for the Batavia sectional.

The Broncos won the team title and will move on to the Argo team sectional Feb. 23.

Willowbrook

Matt Rowland (170 pounds) and Jack Jessen (182) were dominant in winning titles at the Class 3A Downers Grove regional Feb. 6.

Rowland won by fall just 36 seconds into the title match, and Jessen earned a 17-5 major decision for his title. Both advanced to the Batavia sectional Feb. 12 and 13.

GIRLS BOWLING

Willowbrook

Dana Sasenick (1,008 pins) and Katie Pettinger (938) moved on from the Hinsdale South regional to the Reavis sectional Feb. 13. The Warriors placed eighth as a team with a score of 4,343.

Glenbard East

The Rams totaled 2,404 pins as they placed 12th at the Hinsdale South regional Feb. 6.
