Glenbard East’s boys bowling team kept its season going as it placed second at the Hinsdale South regional Jan. 16.
The Rams had a pinfall of 6,027, finishing behind Lyons Township (6,277) in the team standings.
Conner Grzenia led Glenbard East with a 1,327 series and finished second individually.
The Rams’ Jake Jordan bowled a 1,312 to take third individually.
Max Giurdanella (1,123), Andrew Stevens (747), Preston Cox (575), Jack Sarocka (554) and Cole Salak (389) contributed to the team score.
East heads to the Lake Park sectional tournament Jan. 23.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Montini
The Broncos put on a clinic on offense in an 83-49 win against Joliet Catholic on Jan. 18 at the Subway Chicagoland Classic shootout at Willowbrook High School.
It was the fifth time this season that Montini scored 80 or more points.
Four players scored in double figures against Joliet Catholic as the team improved to 21-0 on the season.
Aaliyah Patty scored 18 points, Lindsey Jarosinski finished with 15, Kaylee Bambule had 14 and Nikki Oppenheimer tallied 13 points.
WRESTLING
Glenbard East
James Ost (106 pounds) and Nolan Vincent (120) were champions for the Rams at the Urbana invite Jan. 16.
Drew Fugiel (126), Scott Szabo (138) and Bryan Andrews (220) were runners-up.
Nick Donovan (113), Alex Posada (132), Matt Luttrell (160) and Brandon Raines (285) won third-place matches for East.

Veronica Srey was eighth on both floor (8.475) and uneven bars (8.725), and Krasimira Ganeva placed eighth on vault (8.6) for Glenbard East’s top showings at the District 87 meet they hosted Jan. 15. As a team, the Rams scored a 132.925 and finished third.
