PHS inducts 12 new members to NHS

PRINCETON — Princeton High School inducted 12 new members into the National Honor Society on Sunday, Jan. 10. Five of these new members were from the senior class and seven were from the junior class.

In order to be eligible for consideration, students must be in 11th or 12th grade, must have been in attendance at Princeton High School for one year and achieved a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25. A five-member, faculty council reviewed the students based on outstanding criteria in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership and character.

Awarding the new members in the auditorium were Principal Andy Berlinski and NHS advisor Tameran Polowy. The previously inducted senior NHS members conducted the traditional candle-lighting ceremony. Angelica Jones was the master of ceremonies while formerly inducted senior members Brooke Hieronymus, Jacob Doan, Audra Reidner, Selena Olson, Mallory Wheeler, Elise Blocki, Rachel Harris, Hannah Erickson and Kiley Korey supported other parts in the ceremony. Absent from the ceremony was Jake Reinhardt.

After the ceremony, a time of celebration and fellowship with cake, punch and chocolate covered strawberries was held in the cafeteria to honor the new members and their families.

Senior inductees were Hector Gomez, Alisa Holmbeck, Brianna Legner, Madison Menzel and Chaz Williams. Junior inductees were Alison Brown, Doran Cotter, Jenna Grimmer, Rachel Jensen, Alexander Schlesinger, Colton Youngren and Anna Zehr.
