Magnificent Mile Lights Parade selects Embrey

The Bank Magnificent Mile Lights Parade committee selected DeKalb music and theater producer Michael Embrey to be part of the production team for the nationally televised Mag Mile Light Parade in Chicago.

The parade and festival, which took place Saturday, kicks off the holiday and shopping season nationwide.

“After a two-year involvement as an adviser, Michael Embrey was selected this year to take a more active role in the parade production,” John Curran, Magnificent Mile Vice President of Marketing, said in a news release.

In addition to being involved the parade entertainment team, the parade committee also has asked Embrey to produce an All-Illinois High School Marching Band to lead the parade in 2016 to help honor the 25th anniversary of the festival.

The parade started at Oak and North Michigan Avenue and ended at Michigan Avenue and the Chicago River. A fireworks show began at 6:55 p.m. over the Chicago River.

The Lights Festival Parade was broadcast live on ABC7 Chicago, and will be broadcast across the country throughout the holiday season.
