McHENRY – A commercial roofing and sheet metal corporation based in McHenry recently promoted a 17-year employee to executive vice president, according to a news release.
David G. Kozial begins the new executive position at Metalmaster Roofmaster Inc., as the contracting company marks its 38th anniversary this month. Kozial started working as an accounting manager in 1998 for Sno Gem Inc., an entity Metalmaster owners formed in the early 1990s as the company grew.
Since then, Kozial moved up within the company, becoming comptroller and later vice president of finance and personnel, the release stated.
“We are extremely proud of David and his achievements,” Principal Michael V. Smeja said. “He has been with us for over 17 years and grown in multiple positions. That says a lot about his character.”
In the new role, Kozial will manage various operations within the company, including financial management, human resources and strategic management.
Originally born in Des Plaines, Kozial moved to McHenry County and graduated from Marion Central High School in Woodstock. He lives in the county with his wife, Patty, three children and three grandchildren.
