Patsy Cline tribute in Sycamore Nov. 7

“SYCAMORE – Crazy For Patsy” comes to Sycamore United Methodist at 5 p.m. Nov. 7. This group celebrates the music of Patsy Cline from her honky-tonk days to her pop hits.

Jill Sanderson, vocalist, has performed in Northern Illinois for the past 20 years. She has appeared in many community theater productions, including “The Fantasticks,” “Oliver!” and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”

Other shows have included “Meet Me in St. Louis” and “Into the Woods” at the Clock Tower Dinner Theater in Rockford.

Fareed Haque, on guitar, is a professor of classical and jazz guitar at Northern Illinois University. He was voted world’s best guitarist in 2009 by Guitar Player Magazine.

Living in many areas of the world, including Spain, France, Pakistan and Chile, has contributed to his passion for eclectic styles of music. He recently performed two guitar concertos in one concert for the Chicago Philharmonic. His recordings have been featured under various record labels, including one owned by Sting, Warner Brothers, and the ultimate jazz record label, Blue Note.

Dave DK Kolars, lap steel guitarist, founded the Northern Illinois Bluegrass Association in 1995. He has played solo blues, ragtime and folk, as well as participating in various bluegrass bands over the years. He is currently part of the Wacky Keys.

Roger Hintzsche, bassist, also has eclectic musical taste, playing everything from jazz standards with the Shenanigans Big Band to traditional Dixie with the Barb City Stompers. He has a graduate degree in electronic music and jazz from NIU.
