BERWYN – It took it a little longer than the other video stores in town, but Value Video Super Store, 6845 Ogden Ave., Berwyn, is going out of business.

Value Video, which has been open for about 20 years, is the last video rental store in Berwyn.

David Patel, the brother of owner Adam Patel, will oversee the foreclosure of the store.

He said the store could no longer overcome the industry changes that even forced video rental franchises such as Blockbuster out of business.

The store will hold a liquidation sale of all DVDs and VHSs that Patel said he hopes will be finished in a month.

He is attempting to lease the location to a new tenant but said that if he does not find one by March, he may try to open a new business there himself.

The Patel family also owns the Route 66 Liquors next to the video store.
