Geneva attorney Peter O. Muldoon and St. Charles attorney Laurel S. Hickman were among 36 recently suspended by the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission of the Supreme Court of Illinois.
Muldoon's license was suspended for six months and until further order of the court. Muldoon was licensed in Illinois in 1989.
According to the court, Muldoon failed to pursue a child custody matter on behalf of a client and did not refund any fees and costs paid to him in that matter.
In addition, he failed to cooperate with the commission and did not participate in his own disciplinary proceeding, according to the court disciplinary records.
The court suspended Hickman's license for one year, effective Oct. 13, with the last six months stayed by a two-year period of conditional probation.
Hickman was licensed in 1989. According to the court, Hickman neglected three separate client matters, did not communicate with clients and did not refund unearned fees to two clients.
