LA GRANGE – With 11 years in the fitness training industry, Right Fit is branching out for the first time with a new location at 1045 S. La Grange Road, La Grange.
The satellite office will offer personal training programs, group classes and off-site training services.
Owner Suzanne Gray started Right Fit in 2004, offering fitness classes for children at the Hinsdale Community House. The business has grown to offering classes for all age groups and fitness levels, and it moved into a larger Willowbrook facility four years ago.
The La Grange location – which will be run by Gray's son Steve – will be able to hold classes as large as 12 people and will focus mostly on classes for adults and athletes.
Steve Gray said Right Fit differentiates itself from other fitness centers because of the personalized training programs it prescribes to its clients.
"We pride ourselves on an individual approach, all centered on results," he said. "Other gyms will claim that they are, but a lot of the fitness industry has become cookie-cutter. The franchise model, they don't have the systems in place to track individual client results."
Trainers will start clients off on a bioimpedance scale to measure body fat percentage, hydration levels and muscle mass, followed by a movement screening.
The client and trainer will go over a list of goals, and the trainer will assign the program to best meet those goals.
"The only solid approach that you can take is an individualized approach because each person that comes through your door is going to need something different," Steve said.
Jackie Errico, director of sports performance and fitness, will be in charge of Right Fit's off-site programs.
Trainers offer fitness classes for a variety of groups, from children with special needs to local fire departments to workplaces such as the Argonne National Laboratory.
Though this will be Right Fit's first location in La Grange, the Grays have long been part of the community.
Steve, a La Grange resident, went to both St. Cletus School and Nazareth Academy and is a strength and condition coach at Nazareth, as well as a linebackers coach for the football team.
"I've been a member of this community now since I was a small boy," he said. "I've had a lot of ties here. I've always had a dream of coming back here."
Suzanne said she also has worked with Lyons Township High School students with special needs and Alzheimer's patients at Aging Care Connections.
Though this location is smaller than the Willowbrook site, the Right Fit team is excited to have a more visible location on a main road.
"We've never had a storefront," Suzanne said. "We've never had a sign."
Steve said a lot of fitness businesses have opened in La Grange, but Right Fit hopes to stand out with its personalized approach and highly trained staff.
With its in-house classes, off-site programs and services available at the nearby Willowbrook location, Right Fit will have fitness programs to suit anyone in the community, he said.
"There are a lot of athletes that can use our services and our individualized touch when it comes to fitness," Steve said. "We feel like it would be a perfect fit in this city."
