ROCK FALLS – Francis R. “Frank” Klocke, 89, of Rock Falls, died Thursday, July 9, 2015, at his home.
He was born Oct. 1, 1925, in Rock Falls, the son of William and Mildred (Jackson) Klocke Sr. He was a graduate of Community Catholic High School. Frank served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific theater. He married Theresa Miller on June 18, 1949, at St. Flannen Catholic Church in Harmon.
Frank had been an insurance agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. for 27 years. He was well-known for his singing ability throughout the area, providing his vocal ministry for funeral and weddings for many decades. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Theresa; one daughter, Marybeth Leffelman of Geneva; two sons, Francis Klocke Jr. of South Bend, Indiana, and Christopher (Gigi) Klocke of West Des Moines, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Chuck; four sisters; and one brother.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday and the Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls, with Monsignor Thomas Dzielak officiating.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling. McDonald Funeral Homes is handling arrangements.
Memorials may be made to St Andrew Grade School or Newman Central Catholic High School.
