Eyes on Stickney: Community welcomes Chicago Eye Consultants to Harlem Avenue

STICKNEY – The July 8 grand opening of Chicago Eye Consultants, 4401 S. Harlem Ave., Stickney, marked a rebirth for a property that was vacant for years and now is back on the tax rolls.

Stickney Village President Debbie Morelli said the development and construction of the eye clinic was the biggest project of its kind for the village since she took office in 2013.

Damage to the roof while the building was vacant caused major problems inside the 10,431-square-foot building before it was extensively rehabbed.

“They basically rebuilt it and turned vacant property into a beautiful building,” Morelli said.

Chicago Eye Consultants is staffed by five ophthalmologists trained to diagnose and treat all ocular and visual disorders through medication or surgery, including problems in the eye, eyelids, the orbit and the visual pathways.

Ophthalmologists also can prescribe glasses and contact lenses.
