Mission Meals program a success in Mokena

MOKENA – On June 11, One Love Global Wellness Foundation provided meals to approximately 125 local families in need through its Mission Meals program.

The free program, sponsored by the community, serves nutritious, restaurant-quality meals to local individuals and families. These meals are held at EggCetera Cafe in Mokena, in partnership with owner Dino Bastas.
 
The June meal was sponsored by St. John's Church of Christ in Mokena in remembrance of Lois Steen, a life-long member of the church.

Kathy Ruggio, circulation director, at the Mokena Public Library, distributed information about the library’s summer reading and musical programs for both children and adults.

Maggie Villarreal of the Will County Center for Community Concerns, provided counseling and referrals to families in need of housing assistance. Donald Klank of American Family Insurance provided free movie passes for families with children.
