NEPONSET — Dora Schuyf, 90, formerly of Neponset, a resident of Hillcrest Home in rural Geneseo, died Sunday, May 31, at the home.
Dora Wheeler was born Aug. 22, 1924, in Albia, Iowa, the daughter of Grover Cleveland and Reatha (Riller) Wheeler. She married Willard Stabler June 12, 1942. He died in May 1960. She later married Raymond E. Schuyf April 24, 1964, in Sheffield. He died April 27, 2008.
Dora was a member of the Neponset United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She had also been a member of Hidden Lake Country Club in Sheffield. Dora was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and bridge player. She was famous for her filled cupcakes.
Survivors include four daughters, Connie (Bob) Bennett of Neponset, Sally (Larry) Hansen of Neponset, Julie (Brian) Wager of Sheffield and Jenny (Jim) Densberger of Geneseo; 14 grandchildren, Tony, Terry and Tim Bennett, Paul, Scott and Kim Hansen, Shawn Wager, Justin and Jordan Densberger, Tammy Hartman, Kelly and Karen Hechtner, Heather Nimrick and Heidi Hornback; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Darlene King of Avoleen, Texas; and two special nieces, Debra Schlosser and Rita Hanna.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; one daughter, Marilyn Foresman; and one brother, Jonny Wheeler.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 4, at the Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, 339 E. Chestnut St., Sheffield. Burial will be in West Neponset Cemetery, Neponset.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.
