DIXON – Walter J. Janoskey, 83, of Dixon, died Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at KSB Hospital in Dixon after a short illness.
He was born April 7, 1932, in Chicago, the son of Walter and Sophia (Sudway) Janoskey. He taught for the Dixon School District, first at Lincoln School and then Madison Junior High School before his retirement. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Dixon. Walter married Mary T. O'Brien on Dec. 29, 1962, in Dixon. She preceded him in death on Jan. 4, 2007.
Survivors include his three children, James Janoskey of London, Kathleen (Ryan McCabe) Orlow of Elgin, and Teresa (Toby) Schwarz of Dixon; seven grandchildren, Bethany, Emily, and Christopher Orlow (Kathy's children) and Connor Janoskey and Alexis, Delanie, and Lola Schwarz (Teresa's children); and one brother, Edward (Sue) Janoskey of Bridgeman, Michigan.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., with a Scripture service at 6:30 p.m., Friday at Jones Funeral Home in Dixon. A prayer service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church in Dixon, with the Rev. Antoni Kretowicz, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.
