Frankfort principal leaves for Hillside District 93

D-157-C officials to look for new principal

FRANKFORT — Hickory Creek Middle School Principal Kevin Suchinski will leave his position to become Hillside District 93 superintendent in July.

School officials announced Suchinski’s departure Thursday and plan to recruit a new principal, a process that will involve gathering input from staff, administrators and parents, according to a news release.

Suchinski will move to Hillside District 93 in Hillside on July 1.

Frankfort School District 157-C Superintendent Maura Zinni said the search for a new principal will begin next week. Finalists for the position will be brought to the board for review in April, with a start date for the chosen candidate set for July 1.

Zinni said Suchinski is a “student-first” leader.

“Kevin has been a phenomenal leader both in his own building and also from a district level,” Zinni said. “He is extremely engaging in his instructional leadership. He is very focused on making his students successful.”

Suchinski built a strong professional team at Hickory Creek Middle School, Zinni said, and whoever takes the position will be fortunate to work in an “extremely high functioning” environment.

Suchinski has served as Hickory Creek Middle School’s principal since 2002. He was involved in the planning stages of a new Hickory Creek school, which opened in 2006.

He earned advanced degrees in education from Illinois State University and his bachelor’s degree from National Louis University.

Frankfort School District 157-C Board President Christopher McFadden stated in a news release that Suchinski's "energy, enthusiasm and love of teaching has left a mark on thousands of Frankfort children" for more than 13 years.
