Tommy J. 'Tom' Sisson

PORT BYRON – Tommy J. “Tom” Sisson, 72, of Port Byron, passed away Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline.

Tom was born April 26, 1942, in Sterling, the son of Ella (Willman) and Lloyd Sisson Sr. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He retired as a meat cutter from the former Eagle Grocery Store chain after more than 25 years with the company. Tom loved his family, and was an avid bicyclist in his earlier years.

Survivors include his siblings, Sandra (Wilson) Ackland of Rock Falls, Lloyd (Margie) Sisson and Donald (Carol) Sisson, both of Sterling, and Richard (Geneva) of Rochelle; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters, Pat, Marylou, and Betty.

At Tom's request, there will be no services. Private inurnment will be at Rock Island National Cemetery.
