GURNEE – A new executive director has been named to the Warren-Newport Public Library District in Gurnee. Former director, Stephen Bero, served the district 10 years.
Ryan Livergood, of Wakefield, Mass. will succeed Bero. Livergood holds a master's degree in library and information science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Florida Southern College. He previously served as a director of libraries at the Robbins Library in Arlington, Mass., according to a news release from the library.
Library board president Socrates Rivers said the candidate search has been rigorous and the board feels "Ryan beings fresh ideas to the post, as well as incredible energy, enthusiasm and creativity."
The board voted unanimously to extend the offer to Livergood, the release says.
The library district serves about 70,000 residents within 55 square miles of Warren and Newton townships, Gurnee, Wadsworth, Park City, Wildwood, Grandwood Park, Old Mill Creek, and portions of Grayslake, Millburn, Lake Villa, Libertyville and Waukegan.
