Lemont freshman Alex Knutte made quite an impression in the first home swimming meet of her high school career.
Knutte placed first in a pair of events in the Indians’ dual meet against Reavis, winning both the 100-yard freestyle and the 200 individual medley. Most impressively, her time of 54.71 in the 100 set a new girls school record.
Sarah Oprzedek was also first in the 100 butterfly (1:11.21) and the 500 freestyle (6:14.12) while Mallory Douglass emerged victorious in the 200 freestyle (2:24.20).
As a team, Lemont outscored Reavis 67-43.
The Indians return to action at Saturday’s Lockport Invitational.
BOYS SOCCER
The Indians defeated Plainfield East 3-2 Tuesday as part of the Lemont Cup.
Christian Goushas had a goal and an assist and Michael Prasauskas and Martynas Biskis also found the back of the net.
On Aug. 29, Lemont opened the tourney with a 3-1 win against Lincoln-Way West as Teddy Trifunovski, John Bermele and Jordan Nitchoff all scored. Connor Koehler made four saves in goal.
BOYS GOLF
Lemont knocked off Shepard 173-184 Tuesday in a South Suburban Conference dual meet behind a nine-hole score of 41 from Matt Groebe.
GIRLS GOLF
Laura Ringo took medalist honors with a 45 as Lemont defeated Rosary 188-213 in a dual meet on Tuesday.
