The List: Favorite Chicago sports duos

Kane and Toews.

Toews and Kane.

Since they first joined the NHL team in 2007, it's been hard to not think of Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane as a pair. They filmed a Batman-and-Robin-like commercial for a Chevy dealer in Chicago. And last week they signed identical 8-year contract extensions. They signed the contracts together.

With two Stanley Cups already under their belts – Toews is just 26 years old and Kane 25 – has there been a more dynamic sports duo in Chicago sports history? Well, yes. They would have to win five more Stanley Cups to top the title run by Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen with the Chicago Bulls.

But their signings last week, which should keep them as the core players for the Blackhawks through the 2022-23 season, inspired me to compile a list of my favorite Chicago sports duos of all time – in other words, my time.

Here it is. Let me know what you think. Who would be on your list of Chicago sports duos?

1. Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, Chicago Bulls

2. Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane, Chicago Blackhawks

3. Walter Payton and Matt Suhey, Chicago Bears

4. Norm Van Lier and Jerry Sloan, Chicago Bulls
