Two injured Monday in Kane County crash

Two people were transported to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin after a box truck rolled over in unincorporated Kane County around 2:30 p.m. Monday, according to the Carpentersville Fire Department and the Kane County Sheriff's Office.

Lt. Patrick Gengler from the Kane County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday said the single-vehicle crash apparently sent two people to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Gengler added the accident resulted in the closure of Route 31 from North County Line Road to Schoolhouse Road for about an hour and a half Monday.

This is the second overturned truck at the intersection of Route 31 and Miller Road in three weeks. A semi-truck overturned June 26, blocking traffic for about two hours. The driver of the truck was able to exit the vehicle, police said at the time.
