Church says goodbye to pastor

POLO – The Rev. Louis A. Tosto was honored June 29 with a breakfast gathering after his final Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church.

Tosto was assigned in August 2010 as parochial administrator at St. Mary Parish. He was ordained in 1997, and served in several parishes in the Rockford Diocese. Just before being assigned to Polo, Tosto was associate pastor at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls. He now will be at St. Thomas More Parish in Elgin.

The Rev. Joseph P. Naill, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church in Oregon, will serve as pastor of St. Mary in Polo, too.

Naill was ordained at the same time as Tosto.

Starting this month, Masses will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Sunday at St. Mary, 301 N. Fourth St., Oregon, and 10:30 a.m. Sunday at St. Mary, 211 N. Franklin Ave., Polo. Morning Masses will be at 8 a.m. Tuesday through Friday in Oregon.
