Alleged gang member faces numerous gun charges in Brookfield

BROOKFIELD – A report of shots fired June 19 in the 4500 block of Park Avenue resulted in numerous weapons charges against a Brookfield man following a car chase that led to the known gang member's residence about 1 a.m. June 21.

Police received several calls reporting shots fired in the 4500 block of Park Avenue where a total of nine shell casings were found, according to police reports. While conducting surveillance in the area about 1 a.m. June 21, two vehicles passed through a stop sign at Gerritsen and Elm avenues without stopping and turned into the driveway of an apartment building in the 4500 block of Park Avenue.

Despite warnings by police to remain in the vehicles, Amien Issa, 19, of the 4500 block of Park Avenue and allegedly known to police as a gang member, and his passenger, Jessica K. Good, 18, also of Brookfield, ignored police and went into the apartment building, according to police.

Police said Good came out of the apartment after police told Issa and several other gang members who were hanging out of a window that both vehicles would be towed. Good was taken into custody for obstruction.

The driver of the second car, Robert L. Addair, Jr., 20, of La Grange, and an 18-year-old female passenger from Hinsdale, who had remained in the car as ordered by police, was ordered to follow police to the station to post a cash bond for his citations.

A search of Issa's vehicle after it was towed revealed a secret compartment in the console where a loaded revolver and several live rounds of ammunition were found.

Issa was later taken into custody and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of firearm ammunition without a Firearm Owner's Identification Card, unlawful possession of ammunition, under 21 years of age, obstructing a police officer, and driving while license suspended.

Good was charged with obstructing a police officer and consumption of alcohol by a minor.
