AMBOY – Irma R. Bonnell, 91, of Amboy, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Green Acres Healthcare Center in Amboy.
She was born Feb. 22, 1923, in Sublette, the daughter of Elmer and Myrtle (Helfrich) Stouffer. Irma married Irie Bonnell on July 13, 1940, in Sublette. He preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1993. She was a member of United First Church in Amboy and Green River Saddle Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Rose (Larry) Leffelman of Sublette and Jane (Terry) Garland of Dixon; three sons, William (Ruth) Bonnell of LaMoille, Michael (Kathleen) Bonnell of Amboy, and Russell (Jeanette) Bonnell of Dixon; two daughters-in-law, June Bonnell of LaMoille and Lynne Bonnell of Arlington; 18 grandchildren, Jenny (Brad) Considine, Chris (Ed) Klein, Amy (Gerry) Staszewski, Dawn (Tom) McInnis, Rick (Dori) Bonnell, Annette (Joe) Larson, Malinda (James) Rossi, Stacey Cherry, Brad (Kasha) Bonnell, Lisa (Travis) Moore, Renee (Steve) Carlson, Brian (Amy) Bonnell, Jason Bonnell, Katie Bonnell, Vic Garland, Tess (Chris) Fleming, Clint Garland, and Mayme Garland; 37 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lois Day of Missouri; and one brother, Paul (Mary) Stouffer of Dixon.
She also was preceded in death by three sons, Dean, Richard “Dick,” and Raymond “Tony” Bonnell; a grandson, Spencer Garland; four sisters, Doris Barlow, Helen Daniels, Elaine Hasselman Passwater, and Dorothy Conderman; and six brothers, Harold, Elton “Sye,” Elmer “Tim,” Kenneth, Dale, and John Stouffer.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at United First Church in Amboy, with the Rev. Roger Carlson officiating. Burial of cremains will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Sublette.
