Poison's Bret Michaels now leading Hair Band Heavyweights concert in Elgin

Michaels replaces Motley Crue's Vince Neil in lineup featuring Twisted Sister's Dee Snider, Cinderella's Tom Keifer

ELGIN – Poison front-man Bret Michaels will step in for former Hair Band Heavyweight headliner Vince Neil of Motley Crue for the Sunday, June 22, concert at Elgin's Festival Park.

The swap was made due to a cancellation made by Neil, because of a scheduling conflict with Motley Crue's summer tour, states a news release.

"... With Bret's help we are going to deliver a great night of rock and roll in the park," said event producer Ron Onesti. "It will be nothin' but a good time."

Michaels is a TV personality and musician best known as the lead singer of '80s band Poison. He has starred in shows, such as "Rock of Love" and "Celebrity Apprentice 3."

Other musicians performing at the one-night event, beginning at 5 p.m., will be Tom Keifer, the founding member, voice and songwriter for the rock band Cinderella; and Twisted Sister's lead singer Dee Snider.
