Stickney mayor shaves heads for St. Baldrick's event at library

STICKNEY – A weekend fundraiser held at the Stickney Forest View library collected nearly $12,000 to support children's cancer research, according to Danielle Taylor, head of the library's Youth Services Department.

Stickney Mayor Deborah Morelli was one of the head shavers at the Saturday event. According to Taylor, 33 people had their heads shaved, including Stickney Police Chief John Sladetz, Forest View Fire Prevention Chief Tom Heller, Stickney-Forest View Library trustee Anthony Murillo and District 110 School Board member Joseph Tober. Additionally, five library staff members got their heads shaved, as well as many community members.
