Doris J. Huyett

DIXON – Doris J. Huyett, 87, of Dixon, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at Dixon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Doris was born Oct. 29, 1926, in Sterling, the daughter of LeRoy and Veronica (Miller) Dawson. She married Everett “Bud” Huyett on Jan. 23, 1947, in Sterling. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2007. Doris was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Huyett of Dixon and Timothy Huyett of Carlisle; three daughters, Janice Russell, Joan (Gary) Janssen, and Victoria (Howard) Michler, all of Dixon; one brother, Joseph Dawson of Grand Junction, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by one sister, Lois Cohenour; two brothers, Francis and James Dawson; one sister-in-law, Patricia Dawson; one daughter-in-law, Diane Huyett; and one son-in-law, Dennis Russell.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday and the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church in Dixon, with the Rev. Antoni Kretowicz, pastor, officiating. Private burial of cremains will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon. Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon is handling arrangements.

A memorial has been established.
