BARRINGTON – PURE Organic Juicery just opened at 100 Station Street, Barrington, in mid-November. Owner Mary Chlystek told Barrington Suburban Life reporter Tarah Thorne more about her new health-inspired business venture.
What inspired you to open a juice and smoothie shop in downtown Barrington?
I began juicing in my earlier years for health and weight management.
I recently came back to it as a way to help deal with pain management associated with several of my autoimmune diseases.
I found that juicing wasn’t very convenient at home with all the required storage space and preparation time.
While traveling more recently, I was inspired by the many of the juice bars and delicious offerings that were available on the West Coast. I found that this selection and convenience was only available “locally” in the downtown Chicago area.
After a year of research, I decided to open PURE Organic Juicery in our home town – Barrington.
How does your business fill a previous void in the community?
With today’s tremendous appreciation for fresh juice and gluten-free, dairy-free and organic foods that taste amazing, our menu is designed to inspire our customers to move toward a healthier life style.
There is nothing like PURE Organic Juicery in Barrington. Our food offerings are organic, gluten free and dairy free.
Plus, each of our drinks are engineered to aid specific parts of your body. For example, Heart Beet juice helps blood circulation to the heart.
Other juice and smoothie companies are sugar based, whereas all of our juices and smoothies are plant based. Our motto, unlike others in this industry, is to make sure our costumers know they are benefiting their mind and body because of the natural ingredients we use.
What's been most
rewarding?
The most rewarding part has been meeting new people who come in with a smile on their face and have a tremendous appreciation of fresh juice and stories to share.
I was also rewarded with gaining a business partner, Kelly Corrigan, my accountant and dear friend of almost 16 years. There are only so many hours in the day, and it’s always more fun to have someone to share the experience with.
