ROCK FALLS – Larry Boss, 77, of Rock Falls, died Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Kindred Hospital in Sycamore.
Larry was born July 6, 1935, in Kent County, Mich., the son of John Martin and Louvisa Ramesy (Zuidema) Boss. He married Connie Melvin on May 23, 1980, in Rock Falls. Larry was a member of Local 150 and worked as an operating engineer for many years. He absolutely loved visiting with and teasing people. Larry also enjoyed traveling and spending his winters in Florida.
Survivors include his wife, Connie of Rock Falls; four daughters, Teresa (Ron) Bultema of Byron Center, Mich., Bonnie (Doug) Rozema of Michigan, Lori (Terry) Crow of Deer Grove, and Debbie (Todd) Devries of Michigan; son, Scott Boss of Rock Falls; two stepdaughters, Sonya Gramm of Sterling, and Tina Shoffner of Rock Falls; two sisters, Donna (Lyle) Parker of Michigan, and Lorinda (Steve) Olson of Michigan; 28 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Thursday at McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Ave., Rock Falls. Roger Carlson, pastor of Berean Baptist Church in Rock Falls, will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.
