A Lake in the Hills woman was arrested earlier this month in a suburban prostitution sting.
Li Xia Sun, 47, of Lake in the Hills was among seven men and four women whom the Aurora Police Department’s Special Operations Group charged with sex-related crimes after a two-day sting in the first week of January, according to a news release obtained Wednesday from the Aurora Police.
Sun, along with Jessica A. Collins, 21, of Chicago; Michelle J. Beley, 30, of Schaumburg; Megan E. Pumphrey, 22, of Milwaulkee; and Antonio Chavez, 24, of Aurora, were each charged with prostitution.
Latawn R. Coon, 31, of Montgomery; Arturo Robles, 38, of Cicero; Kenneth J. Olivo, 36, of Joliet; Everardo Hernandez, 35, of Aurora; Cal R. Thurlby, 55, of Aurora; and Asim Basit, 36, of Elgin, were each charged with solicitation of a sexual act, police said.
Six of the men were arrested after they answered a fake adult-oriented advertisement posted by Aurora Police on an Internet website, police said.
The men allegedly went to a home in Aurora, where they offered an undercover female officer money in exchange for sex. Police are not disclosing the location of the home used in the sting in order to protect the integrity of future operations.
The women and one of the men, who dressed like a woman, were arrested after an undercover male officer answered their ads, which were posted on several different websites, police said.
Aurora Police seized nine vehicles during the operation.
