Officials investigate robbery from Woodman's in North Aurora

NORTH AURORA – Police in North Aurora continue to investigate a robbery that took place Saturday in the parking lot at the Woodman's grocery store at 151 Hansen Blvd.

At about 2 p.m., two Woodman's employees were taking an undetermined amount of money from the main store to the Woodman's gas station on foot, according to a news release from North Aurora police.

As they were crossing the parking lot, a silver four-door vehicle – possibly a 2011 or 2012 Hyundai Sonata or Toyota Camry – pulled up behind them. A black male passenger came out of the vehicle, struck an employee from behind and grabbed the money, the release states.

The vehicle was driven by a second black male. Both were described as wearing dark clothing, police said. The vehicle left the scene heading south on Orchard Road.

The employee was treated by medics and released at the scene. Anyone with information about the incident can call the North Aurora Police's Investigations Division at 630-897-8705, ext. 610.
