STERLING – Rodney W. Hale, 43, of Sterling, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at CGH Medical Center, Sterling. He was a senior accountant with RSM McGladrey, Davenport, Iowa, for the past 12 years.
He was born Oct. 10, 1967, in Canton, the son of Robert W. and E. June (Williams) Hale. He graduated from Aledo High School and Olivet Nazarene University. Rodney was a faithful and active member of First Church of the Nazarene, Sterling, where he was involved with the music and the youth group ministry, and had served the district as Bible quiz director.
Surviving are his parents, Bob and June Hale of Sterling; two brothers, Robert W. (Sharon) Hale of Mannasas, Va., and Roger W. (Joyce) Hale of Bourbonnais; his maternal grandfather, Daniel Williams of Morrison; his paternal grandmother, Louise Hale of Savoy; nieces, Jessica and Erin Hale of Manassas, Va., and Melissa and Leann Hale of Bourbonnais; and his nephew, Scott (Lyra) Hale of Hampton, Va.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Ave., Rock Falls. The memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Church of the Nazarene, Sterling. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Sterling.
