DELMAR, Iowa – Kristin Faye Hanrahan, 18, of Delmar, Iowa, died Saturday, July 23, 2011, as the result of an automobile accident south of Miles, Iowa. She worked for four years at 61 Go-Cart Track, Delmar.
She was born March 23, 1993, in Maquoketa, Iowa, the daughter of Patrick and Mary (Ligtenberg) Hanrahan. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Delmar. She was in the Navy’s early entry program, and was planning to begin boot camp Aug. 14, 2011.
Survivors include her parents, of Delmar; two sisters, Michelle (Anthony) Robles of San Diego, and Brittany Hanrahan of Preston; her maternal grandfather, James Ligtenberg of Dixon; her paternal grandmothers, Phyliss Hanrahan of Delmar, and Evelyn Benedict of Clinton, Iowa; one niece; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather and maternal grandmother.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa, Iowa.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Delmar, with the Rev. David Brownfield officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery, Delmar.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
