104th birthday
Edna Johnson, formerly of Waterman, will be 104 years old on April 12, and will celebrate with her family on April 9 at the DeKalb County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, where she now resides.
Edna is the matriarch of five generations, with children Gay (Bob) White of Waterman, Chuck (Donna) Johnson of DeKalb and Dave (Diane) Johnson of Elizabethton, Tenn. She has 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and 5 step great-grandsons. Her daughters Barbara Rogers, Sandy Lynde and Sally Johnson are deceased.
Edna enjoys reading her Daily Chronicle and would enjoy receiving cards on this special occasion.
Jones-Chandler
Andrea Abbott Jones and Daniel Edmund Chandler were united in marriage on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at The Depot in Culpeper, Va.
Andrea is the daughter of Craig and Jo Abbott of Roanoke, Va. Daniel is the son of Maurice Chandler and the late Kathleen Chandler of Leigh, England.
Tommy Lee Whitlock performed the ceremony, which was held under a chuppah made by the bride's friends.
Andrea's maid of honor was her Doberman, Tinkerbelle, who was escorted by Christine Kemper of Ruckersville, Va. Andrea's other attendants were her Doberman, Beowulf, escorted by Ellen Lekostaj of Chicago, her German Shepherd, Zille, escorted by Stephanie Jackson of Toronto; and Christine's German Shepherd, Nike, escorted by Liz McKenna of Gaithersburg, Md. Maggs Kailhofer of Madison, Wis., was mistress of ceremony.
Daniel's best man was his father, Maurice Chandler, and his groomsmen were Mark Rudd of Swindon, England, and Jonathan Richmond of Bath, England. Ushers were Meenoo Shivdasani of Gaithersburg, Md., and Chris Kailhofer of Madison, Wis.
A reception was held at The Depot immediately following the ceremony; the wedding party, family and close friends celebrated with a southern barbecue. The couple lives in northern Virginia.
Guernsey-Gibbons
Megan Joanne Guernsey and Scott Gerald Gibbons are engaged to be married July 3, 2011, at the Heidel House Resort in Green Lake, Wis.
The daughter of Robert and Susan Guernsey and the granddaughter of Janis Waters of Malta, the bride-to-be is a 2005 graduate of Lomira High School and a 2009 graduate of University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a degree in elementary education. She is employed by the Horicon, Wis., School District as a kindergarten teacher. She also coaches middle school basketball and volleyball.
The son of Gerald and Sheila Gibbons, the groom-to-be is a 2005 graduate of Darlington High School and is attending University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He will graduate in May with a degree in health promotion.
Himert-Nwaokai
Mallory Lea Himert and Rammell Chukwuemeke Nwaokai of DeKalb are engaged to be married May 21, 2011, on Northern Illinois University's campus in DeKalb.
The daughter of Glenn and Ronda Himert of Oregon, the bride-to-be is a graduate of Oregon High School, a 2008 graduate of Northern Illinois University with a degree in sociology and a post-baccalaureate at NIU studying to become a registered dietitian. She also has a master's degree in nutrition and dietetics.
The son of Dina Beecham of Chicago and Austin Nwaokai of Richton Park, the groom-to-be is a graduate of Mather High School in Chicago, a 2010 graduate of NIU with a degree in kinesiology and is currently pursuing his master's degree at NIU in exercise physiology and nutrition. He also is a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army Illinois National Guard Medical Service.
Claxton-Lippert
Abigail Marie Claxton and Chad Matthew Lippert are engaged to be married in October at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sandwich.
The daughter of Todd and Shelly Claxton of Hinckley, the bride-to-be is a 2006 graduate of Hinckley-Big Rock High School and is currently a student at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove. She will graduate in May with an associate's degree in Administrative Office Systems.
Claxton is the granddaughter of John and Gloria Fry of Hersman, Jim and Lynn Claxton of Duson, La., and the late Yvonne Claxton.
The son of Paula Lippert of Hinckley and Charles Lippert of Somonauk, the groom-to-be is a 2005 graduate of Hinckley-Big Rock High School and a 2007 graduate of Ohio Technical College with a degree in Auto-Diesel Master Technology. He is employed at Scot Industries in Sugar Grove.
Lippert is the grandson of John and Harriet Hurt of Hinckley and Elaine and the late Raymond Lippert of Batavia.
