The Sycamore girls tennis team beat Harlem, 4-2, on Wednesday.
Veronica Behrens won at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0. The No. 1 doubles team of Haley Salazar and Katie Poorten won, 7-5, 6-0 and the No. 2 doubles team of Mary Stang and Emily Eggers won, 6-1, 6-4.
"I was real happy with our doubles play," Sycamore coach Dave Hillmer said. "I thought that we played a lot better than we have in the past. Our angles were better. I thought it was a good win for us."
GIRLS GOLF
Foster leads T'wolves: Kalia Foster earned medalist honors with a 49 and Indian Creek defeated Aurora Central Catholic, 223-242, at Phillips Park.
Virginia Filicetti shot a 56, Natalie Harper added a 58 and Ellen Witte added a 60 for the Timberwolves.
BOYS GOLF
Somonauk wins: The Somonauk boys golf team defeated Amboy, 190-202, behind Tyler Garrey's 45. Garrey was a co-medalist with Amboy's Ethan Sprung. Luke Benoit shot a 47 for the Bobcats and Graham Garrey and Jake Krischel both shot a 49.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Somonauk sweeps: Somonauk defeated Mooseheart, 25-19, 25-12 to get its first victory of the season and move its record to 1-2.
BOYS SOCCER
Bobcats fall: Somonauk lost to Leland-Earlville, 3-1. Joel Calderon scored the lone goal for the Bobcats, assisted by Alex Zaeske.
