HOMER GLEN – Amanda Katherine (Collins) Contreras, 36, of Homer Glen, formerly of Naperville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Edward Hospital, Naperville.

Amanda was a 1991 graduate of Naperville North High School, and later earned her associate degree in business from College of DuPage. She currently was employed as an assistant buyer by Costco. She was a very active committee member for Relay for Life in Naperville and served on the board of directors and was part owner of NANOFUSION Music LLC.

Amanda is survived by her husband, John Contreras, formerly of Dixon; her son, Paul Joseph Contreras; her parents, James P. and Polly A. (Blair) Collins; two sisters, Joslyn M. (Drew) Clow and Julie M. (Tom) Slattery; and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be at 7 p.m. today at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 24021 W. Royal Worlington Drive, Naperville. Burial will be private. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials in Amanda’s name may be made to her husband, John Contreras, for an education fund to be established for their son, Paul Joseph, in care of the funeral home.
