MONTGOMERY – Athena L. Kolodziak, 34, of Montgomery, formerly of Sterling, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at her home, following an illness. She worked for several dental offices in the Yorkville area, as an office manager.
Athena was born May 28, 1975, in Sterling, the daughter of Keith and Julie (Brown) Anderson. She was united in marriage to Eric Kolodzik on Oct. 21, 2000, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling. Athena attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Plano.
Survivors include her husband, Eric of Montgomery; one daughter, Kora at home; her mother, Julie Anderson Elliott of Sterling; her sister, Keelie (Marty) Puglise of Plainfield; her stepmother, Karla Anderson of Sterling; two stepbrothers, Dustin Stone of Bloomington and Brandon (Sophal) Stone of Elgin; her paternal grandparents, Everett and Barb Anderson of Sterling; her maternal grandmother, Rose Marie Brown of Sterling; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father; and her maternal grandfather, Charles Brown, Jr.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sterling, with the Rev. Ken Wasilewski, celebrant, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Arrangements were completed by McDonald-Allen-Grennan Funeral Home, Sterling.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
