Student of the Month: Chelsey McKee, 
Rock Falls High School

Chelsey McKee is a senior at Rock Falls High School, and the school's April student of the month. She is the daughter of Tina Echebarria of Rock Falls and Scott McKee of Bloomington-Normal, and has one sister, Elizabeth McKee, 12, of Rock Falls.

Favorite class: Psychology with Mark Truesdell. It really interests me how the human mind works.

Top teacher: Mark Truesdell. He has his own way of motivating you. He says "It's your choice. If you want to succeed, it's in your hands."

Extracurricular: Key Club and Rock Falls High School character education.

After graduation: I will attend Heartland Community College in Normal and possibly major in psychology.

Paycheck: I'm a housekeeper at Rock Falls Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. I like the residents.

BFF: Jordan Karrow. I've known her for 11 years. Her family has been my family. She's a part of my family. I've gone to her family get-togethers. She goes to mine.

Hearts: The Fray, Matchbox 20, Blink 182, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Will Smith, "Scrubs," Trivial Pursuit, mashed potatoes.

Darts: My biggest fear is not doing anything with my life, my hardest class is advanced composition, and when people go under the speed limit, it makes my blood boil.

Survival guide: Don't take everything so seriously. Go with the flow.

Useless knowledge: Pre-calculus.

I'm in the dictionary next to: Eccentric. My friends think I'm strange in my own way.

Personal trivia: I've traveled a lot. When I was younger, my dad was in the Navy. I was born in Florida, moved to South Carolina, Connecticut, Washington state, and then to Illinois.

Dream job: The Peace Corps. I really like helping people and to be able to volunteer would be neat.

Trading spaces: I'd like to visit Ireland, because it's so beautiful over there.

Read this: "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer. I like the book for the same reason half the girls in the country like it. I think they fell in love with Edward. He's the perfect man.
