DIXON – Erna Coy, 61, of Dixon, died Sunday, April 5, 2009, at her home. She was employed by Borg Warner, Dixon, as a machine operator for 20 years.
Mrs. Coy was born Sept. 2, 1947, in West Germany, the daughter of Georg and Hertha (Koubek) Wolf. She married Lawrence E. Coy Jr. on April 23, 1965, in West Germany.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Sharon Renea (Ken) Gray of Dixon and Angela Sue (Kevin) Gladhill of Sterling; two sons, Danny Eugene (Robin) Coy and Timothy Allen Coy, both of Sterling; three sisters, Helga (Ernest) Cimfl of Arvada, Colo., Gerda Howard of Lucasville, Ohio, and Connie (Walter) Arnold of West Germany; a brother, Fritz (Riza) Wolf of West Germany; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral is at 3 p.m. today at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls, with the Rev. David Yonker of First Christian Church, Sterling, officiating. Burial is at 10 a.m. Thursday at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. Visitation is from 2 to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
