Silver Cross COVID-19 hospitalizations sees uptick over the weekend

The overall number of COVID-19 hospitalizations at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox increased over the weekend, but the positivity rate decreased over the weekend.

Since Friday, the total number of hospitalizations increased from 50 to 61 and the overall positivity rate decreased from 8.1% to 7.3% on Monday. Three people are awaiting test results, eight are in the intensive care unit and two are on ventilators. The number of patients in ICU reflects an increase of two and the number of people on ventilators reflects a decrease of one since Friday.

According to the daily dashboard on Silver Cross’ website, 703 people were tested over the weekend. Of those tested, 44 came back positive. The chart also shows that 36 COVID-19 patients were discharged over the weekend, as well.

The numbers in the chart are updated daily and take into account the number of patients discharged and number of patients currently hospitalized.
