Brown’s Chicken recently opened a new location in Crest Hill, its fifth in Will County.
The new restaurant hosted its grand opening late last month at 16111 S. Weber Road, just south of Renwick Road.
The chain took over a space that used to be occupied by a Subway restaurant and that includes a drive-thru. The new Brown’s restaurant advertises the drive-thru on its building.
Crest Hill Mayor Ray Soliman said the new location marks the return of Brown’s Chicken to the city. A Brown’s Chicken used to be at the corner of Larkin Avenue and Route 30 from the 1980s through about the mid-1990s, he said.
“We’re happy to have Brown’s back because I’ve always loved that chicken,” Soliman said.
Brown’s has more than 21 locations in the Chicago area, including in Bolingbrook, Homer Glen, Joliet and Lockport.
