D. 86, D. 204 in Joliet and D. 202 in Plainfield closing school buildings for Wednesday

School districts gave predicted weather conditions as the reason

The Joliet Central High School student center addition has been named Regional Best Project for 2016 in the K-12 Education category by the Engineering News-Record.

School buildings at Joliet Public Schools District 86, Joliet Township High School District 204 and Disrict 202 in Plainfield will be closed Wednesday due to the severe winter weather in the forecast.

District 86 will offer no classes or after school activities on Wednesday, according to the message the District 86 sent to parents. District 86 will make up the school day on June 2.

Wednesday will be a day of emergency e-learning for students and staff at District 204, according to a news release from the district. Staff will work from home and students will complete assignments online. Maintenance staff should check with their direct supervisor before reporting to school, the release said.

Students and parents will receive an email mail at 7 a.m. Wednesday morning with the attendance code and a link to e-learning instructions. District 204 will also post the attendance code to its website at jths.org, also on Wednesday morning.

District 202 will use an e-Learning day on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 due to the severe weather being forecast for tomorrow, according to its Facebook page. Teachers will post assignments to the Google Classroom.
