The city of Wilmington is taking applications for a new city administrator.
The city administrator is responsible for running all the affairs of the city government under the direction of the mayor and city council. The administrator plans, directs and coordinates through appointed department heads, various services and activities as determined by the City Council and municipal code.
A new administrator’s salary will be dependent on their qualifications, according to the job description.
A qualified candidate must have completed a bachelor’s degree in business or pubic administration, or related area, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
The city is taking applications for the job until Wednesday, although it said in the description that the job will remain open until filled.
Wilmington Mayor Ben Dietz said in a Facebook post the city is looking for an administrator with “strong leadership skills.” He added that the city of just under 6,000 residents has an annual operating budget of about $15 million. The city has 36 full-time employees and 11 part-time and seasonal employees.
