Metra to offer special Saturday schedule on line in Joliet, Lockport and Romeoville

The special Saturday Heritage Corridor trains will run through Oct. 16

Metra will offer special Saturday service on the Heritage Corridor line, which runs from Joliet to downtown Chicago with stops in Romeoville and Lockport, this fall so riders have easy access to local amenities and events.

The special service will run on five consecutive Saturdays from this weekend through Oct. 16, according to Metra. Riders can purchase a $7 pass to ride on Saturdays.

The special Saturday service is meant to coincide with community events this fall in the southwest suburbs including the Joliet Pride Fest and the Tangled Roots Oktoberfest, both Sept. 25.

Two trains starting in Chicago will depart starting in the morning and another later in the afternoon. Two more trains will depart Joliet in the afternoon and another in the evening.
