Ridge Elementary teacher will be 1st assistant principal at Wallin Oaks

Jennifer Lewis will serve next year at new D. 202 elementary school

Jennifer Lewis will serve as the first-ever assistant principal at Wallin Oaks, the newest elementary school Plainfield School District 202.

The school opens in August 2021.

Lewis has been the fourth grade teacher at Ridge Elementary School since 2006, where she began her educational career.

Ridge Elementary School is also in District 202. Lewis’ appointment was approved by the school board on March 22.

Lewis was also the lead administrator Ridge’s Title 1 After School Program in 2012 and 2014.

The district previously announced that Stacey DiBitetto, currently the principal at Ridge Elementary School in Plainfield, will be the principal at Wallin Oaks. DiBitetto has served as principal at Ridge since 2011.

Wallin Oaks will be the 18th full-service District 202 elementary school. Its construction is part of a larger plan to create sufficient space throughout District 202 to provide full-day kindergarten for all eligible students.

Having this new school will also help the district “minimize the need to move certain special education programs every year among buildings because of limited space,” according to a news release from District 202.
