Crest Hill killing: 29-year-old man shot to death

A 29-year-old man was shot to death early Saturday in Crest Hill.

Officers responding to the 1 a.m. shooting found the man on Elizabeth Court just south of Ingalls Avenue, according to a statement released by the Crest Hill Police Department.

The man was transported to AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet where he died, police said.

The Crest Hill Police Department posted surveillance video showing a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt to the city’s Facebook page. The man seen in the video is a suspect in the homicide, according to the police department.

Will County Coroner Laurie Summers’ office failed to release any information on the man’s death or his identity for nearly two days after the killing.

“We believe this to be a targeted incident and there is no immediate threat to the community,” according to the Crest Hill police, who urged anyone with information to contact detectives at 815-741-5111.

“Those who wish to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers of Will County at 800-323-6734 or text WILLCOCS to 274637,” police said.
