The return of warm weather makes this time of year for tackling home repairs.
But how is one to know a contractor is reputable?
Troy Township is hosting “Avoiding Home Repair Scams” at 6 p.m. April 21 at the Troy Township Community Center, 25448 Seil Road in Shorewood.
Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s community outreach team will present the program, according to a news release from Troy Township.
Attendees will learn the right questions to ask contractors, how to make informed choices when hiring contractors and tips for avoiding home-repair scams, the release said.
