Seneca senior Rylee Stenzel shot a 3-over par 74, good for third place at the Class 1A Aurora Central Catholic Sectional as one of 10 individuals on non-qualifying teams headed to this weekend’s state tournament at Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur. St. Francis was one of three team qualifiers, while Plano senior Faith Malloy earned one of the last individual slots in a playoff.

Hinsdale Central freshman Elyssa Abdullah carded an even-par 72 to take home the individual title, leading the Red Devils to the sectional title on Monday at Village Greens of Woodridge. Downers Grove North also qualified its team, while Lockport senior Lizzie Anderson, Benet freshman Audrey Wake (77), Yorkville junior Mia Natividad (78), Oswego Co-Op sophomore Shyell Lowe (78), Benet senior Olivia Ruffalo (78), Riverside-Brookfield sophomore Mayan Covarrubia (79) and Hinsdale South senior Dana Euske (79) all made the cut as individuals.

Yorkville junior Mia Natividad shook off a rocky start – bogeys on three of her first five holes – to fire an even-par 71 and win her third straight Southwest Prairie Conference title. Oswego Co-Op was tournament champion for the first time ever, with Joliet Township – unbeaten during the dual season – second and the overall team champion for the year.
